This guide is intended for devices that are connecting through MCSNet, if your device is connecting through your phone carrier, then you will have to use their outgoing server settings for this to work.
The main settings are:
incoming server: mail.mcsnet.ca
outgoing server: mail.mcsnet.ca
outgoing authentication: optional
outgoing SSL: off.
Start by hitting the Settings icon with the gears.

Scroll down, and select the mail option.

To create an account, hit Add Account...

Hit the option for Other at the bottom.

Enter the appropriate settings. Server type is IMAP. The Name field will normally be your name, to help recognize who the emails are coming from. Address is your email address like username@mcsnet.ca. Description field can be anything you want, it's just the name for the account, so MCSNet or the email address will work fine. For the incoming server, enter mail.mcsnet.ca for the hostname, and your username and password for the other fields.

Scroll down to fix the outgoing settings. Hostname is the mail server name, which is mail.mcsnet.ca, and username and password are not used for outgoing messages, so select optional for this. Hit Save in the upper right when you are done here.

The mail program will have a long delay here (up to 5 minutes) as it tries the wrong settings, but will give you the option to not use SSL by selecting Yes when it figures itself out, and it may do this two times in a row.

That's it for the guide. Remember that the outgoing server settings are only applicable while connecting to MCSNet, and in a lot of instances you will want to use your phone carriers settings instead. The alternative to this, is to use an email service like gmail (google mail) to handle your messages while you are away from home.
